Why subscribe?

Presumably right now, you are one of my dear friends, someone who follows me on twitter, or a friend of my parents - so the answer for you is ‘to support me and/or to know what I am thinking about on any given day so that the next time we see each other we can dive right in instead of talking about the weather or how much Lyft costs in New York’

If you do not fall into either of those categories - wow hello, I’m honored! Subscribe for writings both mine and to my liking and meditations on things that make me cry. Since you are not one of my dear friends, someone who follows me on twitter, or a friend of my parents, I must tell you, that is most things.

What…will this be?

Logistically: You will get emails with every latest issue! Once a week! Starting Now! Promise!

Also, my first humor book A GUIDE TO MIDWESTERN CONVERSATION will be published in 2023 and you get my newsletter, you’ll also get updates about the book and book events! It’ll be so fun!

Thematically: I like/frequently think about education policy, sports (particularly women in sports), communication in healthy relationships, body politics, pop-feminism, musical theatre, the culture around sex, the midwest, the relationship of the US to other countries and cultures, and my own damn self!

“You also really like books! Especially written by women!” - my wonderful partner when asked to confirm the above list.

Do I have to pay for it?

Absolutely not (for right now, l shall monetize my passions yet!) But if you want to throw me some change so I can say I’m going to save it and then actually spend it on an almond milk latte, my venmo is @tkayp
